Budapest Metropolitan Area
The Budapest Metropolitan Area is in Central Hungary. It consists of Budapest capital and the surrounding suburbs. It has a population of 2.525 million (2010). The real periphery of Budapest, named Budapest Commuter Area encompasses 193 settlements around the city, most of them are in Pest County while some are Budapest-surrounding cities generating huge commuter traffic with the capital. The total size of the area is 7,626 km2 (2,944 sq mi) with about 3.3 million inhabitants (one-third of Hungary's total population). Budapest itself stretches over 525 km2 (203 sq mi) and has a population c. 1.72 million.

Northern City Gate Project
The Northern City Gate development, which is an intermodal city center, is located in Budapest at the North-West corner of the capital city, at the administrative boundary of the III. District, the M0 Ring (Megyeri bridge) and Road No.11 (Szentendre Road), totaling a 31 hectares area.
The project at current design features a total of 245,000 m2 of gross built-area development (max. 338,000 m2), which includes commercial (70,000), office (100,000), residential (60,000) and hotel-conference (15,000) potential. The mix can be fine-tuned.
This development project of regional importance will be directly accessible from Road No 11, the M0 Ring and will also be served by excellent public transport facilities with on one hand the Békásmegyer new bus station and the Szentendre suburban railway on the other. In addition to the required parking lots, a total of 700 lots Park and Ride car park will be built.
